Gemma Ray participated in a restoration of Wim Wenders’ 1971 film “The Goalie’s Anxiety at the Penalty Kick”. The film lay dormant for thirty years since the rights were never cleared for songs by Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, and Van Morrison. Ray’s music is included in six songs replaced in the film by the recently formed Wim Wenders Foundation. Rule one: clear the rights properly the first time. Rule two: if you can not or do not follow rule one, there is usually another solution. See the short documentary about Wenders’ restoration effort here.
